Erin is growing up before our eyes. She has gotten the scooting on her belly down, now she is trying to crawl. Today she just got up on her hands and knees and figured out that is the way to move. She can't hold that position for very long, but I'm thinking she is going to be on the move within the next month. I need to get on the ball and baby proof the house. She loves butternut squash and apples. And she sure does love her daddy. Everytime she hears his voice and gets a big smile and trys to look for him, it is the cutest thing. We love her lots.

Jacob's First Day of Preschool
Jacob's first day of Preschool was the 8th. He just loved it. He was excited about bringing his backpack and snack. Mom has a little difficult time on the 1st day with missing him, but she got quickly over that and has enjoyed one-on-one time with Erin. Everyday after preschool Jacob is so excited about telling Mom what he learned and did at preschool. He's already asking to have his preschool friends over to play. Great way for him to get to know more kids his age.
Next month they will be going to a pumpkin patch as a class, and then in November and December they have skits and special dinners planned for the kids. Very impressed with this preschool.

Odd sayings from Jacob
Throughout the last several months, Jacob has said the cutest things and we wanted to share them with everyone.
First,
While we were coming home from our camping trip today, Jacob and Daddy were playing a silly game. They were calling each other different things such as; trains, sponge, washcloth, etc. Well Jacob out of the blue said "Daddy, you are a compost bucket"
Both Kevin and I had to laugh, because we had no idea that he even knew this word.
Second,
During a Primary Sharing time lesson a couple of weeks ago, one of the primary counselors was teaching about baptism and what it is and at what age each child gets to be baptized. She asked Jacob if he wanted to be baptized and Jacob responded:
"No, I'm going to skip eight and go to nine. I don't want to be baptized, I want to take a bath."
The next family home evening lesson was about baptism to clarify any questions Jacob had.
We will post more as he says them. He is getting to a stage where he is repeating everything we say even when he has no idea what he is saying. It is adorable, well most of the time.

First Family Camping Trip
This weekend we went down to Battleground Lake and camped. It was the first time that Jacob could remember. We rented a cabin and realized that is the way to go. We had lots of fun. Jacob was wanting to check to make sure everything was okay, especially the fire. He roasted marshmellows and we sang campfire songs (sort of, if you can say the abc song is one). He was able to play in the lake both Friday and Saturday. We couldn't believe how deep he wanted to get, this is the boy who hates taking baths. Both times he made friends. Whenever he see any kids he automatically says "mom, look at my friends" even though he doesn't know them. We also hiked around the lake and Jacob loved that and well Erin slept through it in the baby carrier. Erin had a hard time with camping, but she was okay. We think she is coming down with a flu bug sot that would explain some of her crankiness.

Jacob is anxiously waiting until September 8th, when he gets to start Preschool. He is very excited. He has a backpack, new school supplies, and some new clothes for preschool.
Erin is slowly getting more continous sleep through the night, however she is still waking up 2 times, but she is asleep within 10 minutes after. She is loving her fingers and is always trying to get them in her mouth. She started teething at 2 months and we are awaiting her first teeth. She had a 4 month checkup on August 22nd, and she was 13 lbs and 14 oz and 25 inches long. She has come a long way since she was born.
Kevin & Susan are keeping very busy with work, kids, and church. Kevin was able to attend the APA conference in Boston, MA. And as soon as he came home he turned around and went with the young men river rafting for 4 days.
Susan is planning on running a 5K on September 20th and then will be running a 10K on November 22nd.
I hope I can keep everyone updated every week and post new pictures. Have a great week.
